Six Months of Sleepless Reading: Interview with Nolan Quinn & Vander Burke from The Beautiful and the Cursed

AND TODAY IS THE SEVENTH (7TH) AND FINAL DAY OF MY BLOGAVERSARY! Can you guys believe the week is already over? Well, I'll be doing a gigantic wrap up post later on today, but right now, I give to you my character interviews with Nolan and Vander from the Beautiful and the Cursed!

Also, you guys have the chance to win an audiobook of TBTC! And yes, this giveaway IS international!

Synopsis (from Goodreads):

After a bizarre accident, Ingrid Waverly is forced to leave London with her mother and younger sister, Gabby, trading a world full of fancy dresses and society events for the unfamiliar city of Paris.

In Paris there are no grand balls or glittering parties, and, disturbingly, the house Ingrid’s twin brother, Grayson, found for them isn’t a house at all. It’s an abandoned abbey, its roof lined with stone gargoyles that could almost be mistaken for living, breathing creatures.

And Grayson has gone missing.

No one seems to know of his whereabouts but Luc, a devastatingly handsome servant at their new home.

Ingrid is sure her twin isn’t dead—she can feel it deep in her soul—but she knows he’s in grave danger. It will be up to her and Gabby to navigate the twisted path to Grayson, a path that will lead Ingrid on a discovery of dark secrets and otherworldly truths. And she’ll learn that once they are uncovered, they can never again be buried.

Hello Vander and Mr. Perfect- I mean Nolan! Welcome to Sleepless Reads! How do you guys like 21st century technology?
Nolan: Mr. Perfect? Finally, someone knows my name

Vander: Focus, Quinn. The young lady asked how we like 21st century technology.

Nolan: Don’t you know it’s polite to respond to compliments first? Loosen up that clerical collar a bit.

Vander: (pointedly focusing on Allison) The technology we’ve seen is astounding. It could transform the way we hunt demons entirely.

Nolan: And I really love this Game of Thrones of yours. Though I’m quite sure King Joffrey is a demon.
Okay...well. Let's start with some easy questions, okay? What are your full names, where were you born and how old are you guys?
Vander: You’d like our, ah, full names?

Nolan: Yes, Vander tell the lovely young lady your full name.

Vander: Tell her yours first.

Nolan: Gladly. I like mine. Nolan Alistair Quinn. What was the rest? Oh. Born near Glasgow, Scotland, and I’m nineteen at the moment. All right…your turn now, Burke.

Vander: Eighteen. Pennsylvania. Evander mfumphuhmf Burke.

Nolan: (smirking) Very smooth.
Did you guys ever expect your lives to be the way they are today? Are you guys happy?
Nolan: I’ve expected to be a demon hunter extraordinaire since birth. It runs in the blood, you could say.

Vander: Clearly modesty does not.

Nolan: (ignoring Vander) And I’m very happy, thank you. Have you met Lady Gabriella yet?

Vander: We’re happy because we’re doing what we’re meant to do.
Since Valentine's Day was over 2 weeks ago, and many of us girls stayed home alone, what's your advice to guys out there to 'woo' us women? What's your best move?
Vander: I advise men to pick up a book. Women like men who read.

Nolan: How many women walk into your bookstore and fall at your feet? Lady Ingrid has yet to lose her balance, I’ll remind you. My advice? Pick up a sword and be confident about it.

Vander: (shrugging) Or a crossbow, I suppose.
Okay, here in the 21st century we have this thing called #TBT (Throwback Thursday). I know it's Saturday right now, but I want to throwback with you guys and know: who was your earliest Valentine/first love?
Nolan: I’d rather not talk about her.

Vander: (glances at Nolan) You know you’re going to have to now, right?

Nolan: Tell us about your cousin, Burke.

Vander: Very funny. My first Valentine was a girl named Beth.

Nolan: And?

Vander: Well she isn’t here, is she? Obviously it didn’t work out.
You're both connected to the Waverly family. Can you both describe your experience with them in one word?
Nolan: Exasperating.

Vander: Bewitching.
I want to go to semi-formal, but I don't have a date. Any of you guys interested in escorting me to a dance?
Vander: It would be my pleasure.

Nolan: I’m an excellent escort. Just don’t mention this little outing to Gabby.

Vander: And, ah, what exactly is a semi-formal again?
A long nap or a good nights sleep?
Nolan: Alliance members don’t sleep.

Vander: We snooze.
An extravagant ball or a low key dinner?
Nolan: Extravagant ball, of course.

Vander: A quiet dinner is more my pace.
A day of training/hunting or a day with your girl?

Vander: A day with Ingrid.

Nolan: She isn’t your girl yet.

Vander: Quiet down over there.

Nolan: I get the best of both worlds. I can hunt and spend time with Gabby

Vander: Don’t try and fool us, Quinn. We all know there won’t be much hunting going on.

About the Author

Page Morgan

I'm the author of the YA Gothic thriller THE BEAUTIFUL & THE CURSED, along with its forthcoming sequel THE LOVELY & THE LOST. I've been intrigued by les grotesques ever since I came across an old, black-and-white photograph of a Notre Dame gargoyle keeping watch over the city of Paris. I wanted to tell that gargoyle's story. Soon, the idea for The Beautiful & the Cursed was born.

I live in New England with my husband and our three daughters, an English Pointer puppy, an arrogant cat, two cuddly bearded dragons, fifteen chickens, and during the summer and fall, our neighbor's two sweet horses.

So, The Lovely and The Lost (sequel to The Beautiful and The Cursed) doesn't come out till May, but Page Morgan is giving you guys the chance to catch up with the series by entering this INTERNATIONAL audiobook giveaway for TBTC. Must be 13+ to enter or have a parents permission!
